The Specifics:

Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro was released in September 2019, targeted at being both a camera and gaming smartphone.

The Redmi Note 8 Pro has 4-sided 3D curved back and has been fitted with a 6.5” IPS LCD screen. With front and rear gorilla glass 5 for maximum resilience. There is a wide range of colors: Black, Red, Blue, White, Deep Sea Blue, Midnight Blue, Electric Blue and Twilight Orange; this just makes the choice of color so much more fun.

On the inside, there is a Helio G90T processor 6/8GB RAM and 64GB/128GB/256GB storage and increased storage capabilities. A quad Camera setup and with a whopping 4500mAh battery. Managing this device is Android 9.0 OS with the MIUI 10 OS overlay.

The Best:

The rate at which smartphones have been progressing lately really forced the upgrade of Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro giving us more of what we wanted for the same affordable price.

They managed to fit this device with quad cameras [64 MP (wide), 8 MP (ultrawide), 2 MP (dedicated macro camera) 2 MP depth sensor] and 20MP selfie camera, some water, and dust protection and they have now fitted the USB C type charging port.

Even the battery size is massive, and its boosted by an 18W fast charge giving us 114hour endurance rating.

The Bugs:

The Xiaomi brand has always lacked on the processor side compared to other major brands but for all that you are getting and the fantastic price, this processor is not at all week as it outperforms the Snapdragon 710.

The lack of a super AMOLED screen panel is a bit of a downside due to not as much depth in color but we are reaching for faults at this point. The IPS LCD screen is a lot better for your eyes as it doesn’t strain them as much over long periods.

Is it for you?

Well, if you are looking for a high-tech premium quality phone that outperforms other smartphones in this price range, then what is stopping you from spoiling yourself with this affordable smartphone.

What we like

64MP quad-camera is what is the main stand out feature of the Note 8 Pro, and if that was not enough, they added a gaming processor with Liquid-Cool technology.

Google Play is supported on this device making your phone a smart wallet too with the added use of the multifunctional NFC.

What we don’t like

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro offered very little to dislike as it ticks all the right boxes for us. If we were to find fault, it would be the case of it not being as easy to use as we have gotten used to with the likes of Samsung or Apple but it’s not going to take you long to adjust to the OS.

Should you buy it?

Yes, if you want to save money, have an excellent smartphone that can both take insanely excellent images and be a high performing gaming device. There is very little to fault on this device, and it is holding up against other well-known names very well.
