Sony Xperia Z3+ Review
The Sony Xperia Z3+ is the freshest flagship smartphone released by Sony, and it is quite an improvement in comparison to previous models. It is a serious competitor on the market, and although it has some serious giants to battle with, it seems to have the resources to do so. Whether you want your Z3+ to follow the classic pattern and be black or white, or you want it in more exotic finishes like Aqua Green and Copper, you can be sure you will not be let down by its features.
With a phone like the Sony Xperia Z3+ in your pocket, you should not be afraid of dropping it in water anymore. You can even keep it down there for a while and shoot a unique video, as the device is waterproof up to 1.5 meters deep, and it can safely do its job there for 30 minutes. The phone is also dustproof, so you will not have any issues at all with such a thing, either. The screen of the Z3+ is probably the jewel of the crown; the IPS LCD screen has a staggering 424 ppi pixel density, which is the result of the 1080 x 1920 resolution spread over a 5.2-inch diagonal. The 70.9% screen-to-body ratio is another advantage to keep in mind when thinking about the phone.
The Sony Xperia Z3+ comes shipped with Android 5.0, and can be upgraded to the latest Lollipop version. The 5.1.1 OS version seems to deal better with the available resources, so navigating through the menus or multitasking feels like a breeze. Of course, this may also be due to the fact that its hardware is quite strong. The octa-core design revolves around a Cortex-A53 and a Cortex-A57 CPU, the first one running at 1.5GHz, and the latter at 2GHz. The GPU should be and actually is quite powerful: the Adreno 430 has been used in order to power the display and provide crisp graphics in all the latest games available in the Play Store. The 3GB of RAM memory should also be more than enough, even if you need to heavy multitask.
The internal memory of the Sony Xperia Z3+ gives 32GB of space to have fun with, but that is not all. Unlike other smartphones at the higher end of the spectrum, this one still features a card slot, so you can add a 128GB microSD and have enough room for all of your favorite games and multimedia content. And, speaking of multimedia, you will be pleased to find out the main camera can shoot 4K video at 30fps. You can shoot 1080p video at 60 fps and you can also go for a bit of slow-motion thanks to the 120 fps rate at 720p. The 20.7MP sensor of the primary camera is huge, and it is able to shoot photos at up to 5248 x 3936 pixels. The secondary camera will not let you down either, featuring a 5MP sensor and being able to record 1080p video at 30fps.
