Sennheiser HD-280 Pro Review

The Sennheiser HD 280 Pro is a closed ear headphones with ergonomic design and a cord. It is foldable and lightweight, easy to store or bring along when travelling. The headband padding, earpads and audio cord are replaceable. The cord is around 3 meters and it is convenient to use if you need to move a lot while listening. But it is too long if the music source is just inside your pocket. The weight of the cord is also adding some weight on the headphone and might cause some pain on the head. The user should devise a plan to avoid carrying the full length of the cord while using the headset. This cord is coiled that most users find irritating. The sound that the HD 280 Pro produces is lifelike. The noise reduction is not 100%, but if the volume is turned up, the sound through the headphone successfully eliminates most of the external sounds. There is also no hiss and the device can manage high frequency sounds. The sound that it delivers depends mainly on the original recording of the music being played. If the recording wasn’t great, the output of the headphone wouldn’t be that great either. The headband runs small. Constant extending of the plastic strap creates cracks. But this plastic strap is not replaceable. However, there is a 2-year warranty for this gadget; so, replacement is possible if within two years. For others, this headset is a little big. This depends mainly on the size of the head and face of the user. The cushion is warm and can be sweaty especially after a longer period of time using the headset. But there is no discomfort around the ears even for a longer use. Just like other headphones, this one also needs breaking in or burning in. It has to be played loudly for at least a week before it is best to use. This would dramatically change for the better the performance of the headphone. The more it is used, the more the sound gets better. It should be burned in with music that is full of highs and lows. After that, the sound would be incredible. When it comes to durability, the leatherette padding of the headband will fall off and the plastic cover of the cord will show signs of wear and tear after more than two years of minimal use. On the other hand, the sound will still work. The exterior of the HD 280 Pro looks sturdy. It is, however, bulky, but most headphones are. Others don’t like being seen wearing like this in public but would prefer wearing earphones for style. It is made of plastic and light weight but looks solid. It looks less classy because of the plastic, though. But the performance is not lacking. Overall, the Sennheiser HD 280 Pro is a great sounding headphone that is collapsible and easy to use. It is durable, excellent in sound reduction and reasonably priced. It is a great value for money.
