Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 WiFi 9.7" 32GB SM-T813 Review
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 WiFi 9.7" 32GB just looks like its 8 inch junior sibling in terms of design. However, it’s a bit larger obviously because of the new 9.7 inch screen. It seems a lot more slender for a large tablet than the Apple iPad Air 2 which is an accomplishment for the Samsung camp.
Just like its junior sibling, it comes with a metal band all-around and a smooth matte finish. It has a micro SD slot designed for a maximum of 128 GB. The power and volume buttons are located on the right while the dual speakers and USB port are at the bottom. You’ll easily notice the square camera as it stands out on the back of the tablet. On the back right, you’ll find some small magnets that hold the tablet’s case.
One of the most prominent differences between the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 WiFi 9.7" 32GB and the Tab S 10.5 is the portrait mode used for the former in place of the landscape mode. The idea behind this is that most tablet users prefer the portrait mode. This can be confirmed by the industry standards set by leading tablet manufacturers such as Google and Apple. Google’s Nexus 9 and Apple’s iPad Air 2 all use the portrait mode.
Although the new 9.7 inch screen looks nice and offers popping colors, unfortunately it has fewer pixels per inch as compared to its younger sibling with an 8 inch screen. This is mostly due to its larger size. Nevertheless, it offers flowing animations and bright colors. Unfortunately, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 WiFi 9.7" 32GB comes with an enormous amount of bloatware taking up to 6.5 GB of the internal memory. Most of these bloatware cannot be deleted.
Multitasking seems flawless on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 WiFi 9.7" 32GB as compared to its smaller sibling the 8” Tab S2. With only 8 inches of screen display, opening more Windows for multitasking seems a bit messy. However, with the generous amount of screen display, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 WiFi 9.7" 32GB, can work flawlessly with four tabs open at the same time. It doesn’t all end there; of course you can be able to control your smartphone from your tablet. Moreover, you can be able to mirror your tablet to a compatible smart TV. More importantly, the reverse is possible as well where you are able to ‘bring’ your smart TV to your tablet.
In terms of performance, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 WiFi 9.7" 32GB doesn’t ‘wow’ but at least it’s able to beat some of its competition. Keeping in mind that it uses the same chip as the Galaxy note 4, it was able to beat the LG G Pad 10.1, Asus ZenPad S 8.0 and even Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 Pro. The camera performs very well same as video playback. However, the battery life is just average which is not a good thing for tablet in the price range.
When all is said and done, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 WiFi 9.7" 32GB is still a worthy consideration. It combines its great set of features with an above average display to make it a perfect consideration when you are looking for a larger Tablet for multitasking.
