As far as high-resolution tablets go, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S WiFi 8.4 16GB looks like it can hold its own. A smart and convenient design coupled with top-quality performance and battery life makes it a very strong choice in the market.

With its 8.4-inch screen size, it seems that the Samsung Galaxy Tab S WiFi 8.4 16GB is looking at the iPad Mini 2 as its direct competition. At only 294 grams and with a thickness of 6.6mm, this is one lightweight and ultra-slim tablet, and since it is available in two colors, users can indulge their stylish side. They can choose between a Titanium Bronze tablet or a Dazzling White one. Both look sleek and elegant.

We were in awe of the high pixel density of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S WiFi 8.4 16GB. Enjoy ultra-clear and crisp Super AMOLED quality images on the 2560x1600 resolution screen display of this tablet. Watching videos is made much more entertaining, thanks to its 16:10 aspect ratio. No wonder this specific tablet is a favorite for video playback. The Adaptive Display feature certainly contributes to this, since it automatically adjusts the color, sharpness and contrast depending on the content.

As for audio quality, this unit has built-in dual stereo speakers on its sides. It can even be used as a speakerphone. It would have been better, though, if the audio also has bass. Users will also appreciate how Samsung incorporated its IR blaster and fingerprint scanner technologies into the Samsung Galaxy Tab S WiFi 8.4 16GB, making it even more functional.

The speed at which this Samsung tablet performs is nothing to scoff at, either. It has a 3GB RAM, runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat and uses an Octa-Core processor with CPU speed of 1.9GHz and 1.3GHz. We only wish we could say the same thing about its Wi-Fi connectivity, because it is not as fast as we expected. Taking the battery life in consideration, we were surprised at how long it lasted, as compared to other LCD tablets. You can watch a video for 12 hours straight in a single charge, something that is quite unheard of in other units.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S WiFi 8.4 16GB also comes with a number of preloaded apps that prove to be very useful. We have already mentioned the Finger Scanner feature, which uses an embedded sensor that enables locking and unlocking, and logging in, among other actions, with just your fingerprints.

But we would also like to mention the SideSync 3.0 app. This preloaded app displays your smartphone screen on the screen of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S WiFi 8.4 16GB. This mirroring feature is sure to offer more flexibility. What is likely to stop some people from purchasing this unit is the price. It is not the most expensive out there, but it is not the cheapest, either. Some may prefer other units that have roughly the same features, but with a friendlier price tag. Right now, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S WiFi 8.4 is only available with a 16GB storage capacity. Hopefully we will soon have higher storage units in the future.
