Samsung Galaxy Note 10 W/ Carrier Plan Review
The 3-Minute Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Review
Instant Review of Slimmer, Lighter Samsung Galaxy Note 10
By Susan Murphy | August 21, 2019
Features & Design: 4/5 ● Performance: 5/5 ● Value: 4/5 ● Battery Life 5/5
The 6.3” Samsung Galaxy Note 10 boasts 256GB of storage and 8GB of RAM, but perhaps the loudest statement of intent when it comes to performance is its Exynos 9825 (7 nm) chipset for the EMEA/LATAM market (Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 (7 nm) for USA and China).
There are three cameras in the main camera unit of the Galaxy Note 10 – two are 12 MP (wide and telephoto), and the other is 16 MP (ultra-wide). The camera features LED flash, auto-HDR, and panorama.
The selfie camera is 10 MP (wide) and features dual video call and also auto-HDR.
All this camera goodness happens on the 6.3” AMOLED screen with resolution of 2,280 x 1,080 pixels and pixel density of 401 ppi.
The battery is in a good place. It is 3,500 mAh, charges quickly with the supplied 45-Watt wired charger, and can withstand a day of your merciless usage.
The display goes all the way to the phone’s edges, giving it an impressive 90.9% screen-to-body ratio. The single “infinity-O” hole-punch camera is centrally-aligned at the top of the screen and is not as intrusive as the S10’s solo-sensor.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 shunts it to the center and drops the size noticeably.
The glass back and display curve together to create a more compact feel in your hand, with the phone appearing to sport as you hold it.
We are not able to report on any bugs as yet, but bear in mind the June update for the Galaxy S10 locked users out of their phones. Several apps like WhatsApp and Twitter showed a “not responding” error message for users who installed the update. If Samsung has not fully taken care of that, there might be instant issues with the Galaxy Note 10 and its sibling, the Galaxy Note 10 Plus.
Is it for you?
To be fair, the Galaxy Note 10 is not just thinner and lighter; it is compact – just the way you want your phone to be. The gorgeous display is something you’ll be proud to show your friends.
None of us likes anything to slow us down, so you will be more than impressed with the performance boost the Galaxy Note 10 Plus will bring to you.
What we like
A 45-Watt wired charger will come with the Galaxy Note 10 and it more robust sibling, the Galaxy Note 10 Plus. A single charge of thirty minutes will last you a whole day. The wireless charging is slightly faster too.
The multiple camera options and machine learning-enhanced features are a marvel to behold. Samsung is really cementing its reputation as capable of driving innovation among the big players.
What we don’t like
Stripping the Galaxy Note 10 of the memory card slot appears to ask if you really need more storage than Samsung thinks you do.
Then Samsung has also lowered resolution from the QHD+ panel available on the S10 and S10 Plus to the FHD+ of the Galaxy S10e.
Should you buy it?
The Galaxy Note 10 is something special. It is not a toned-down version of the Galaxy Note 10 Plus. You certainly should consider investing $950 in this thin, weightless beauty. The performance is worth considering if you’re wondering if it can handle real business.
