The 3-Minute Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) Review
Features & Design: 4/5 ● Performance: 4/5 ● Value: 2/5 ● Sound Quality 4/5
The good thing about Galaxy A9 (2018) is the much wider and taller display that measures 6.3”. It is a full HD plus display that is AMOLED kind and looks super beautiful and nice. The storage of the phone is 64/128 GB which is super awesome and not just this but also has an SD card slot using which you can easily increase the memory. Galaxy A9 has a 6/8 GB RAM. It has a good battery life and is quite promising when it comes to power consuming.
The major setback of Galaxy A9 is the camera. Yes, the very much of the quad-core camera the hype was created for. Despite having a telephoto camera, an ultra-wide angle lens and a depth sensor in addition to the main shooter the photos captured from this phone are very low quality, highlights are burned, white balances are wrong, colors are not very rich and the amount of details is much lower.
Is it for you?
The incredible AMOLED capacitive full HD plus display touchscreen is the best part of this phone. Comprising 16M colors and having a resolution of 1080 x 2220 pixels the display is simply fantastic. It has a very good battery life having Li-ion 3800 mAh battery and a fast battery charging of 18W. If the battery is something that you are looking for in the phone then this might work well for you.
What we like
There are several things to like in this phone like the AMOLED display which sure make this phone a mesmerizing one, the good amount memory or storage, and the 3800 mAh battery are some really good point of Galaxy A9 (2018). Apart from these, it has a fingerprint scanner that works pretty nicely and has a good scan in the first attempt. Also, it has a headphone jack which some of the latest phones are missing out on. Another good point is the voice in the call, voices are crisp and clear at both ends of the line and volume is sufficiently loud.
What we don’t like
Leading the list of what we don’t like is the camera without a doubt. All in all, it has a really bad camera be it a so-much-publicized quad-core camera or the front one. There is nothing to like in the camera rather there are many things to do be disappointed in when talking about the camera of Galaxy A9 (2018). Other than that, the phone has no navigation gesture so you have to rely on the old 3 button navigation system. Also, the speaker is not good enough. It is neither too loud nor good sounding. The sound of music is pretty scratchy and rough especially when the volume is high.
Should you buy it?
The ‘should you buy’ question is very much dependent on what you are focusing on. The quad-camera is so not the thing you should fall for whereas the AMOLED screen is something you can definitely count on and also the long battery life is pretty promising. Other than that this phone has pretty much failed to live up to the value. The high price demanded and the promising features provided are pretty much of a mismatch.
