Nokia Lumia 625 Review
If you are looking for a moderate phone that you can use at an average budget, then you have the Lumia 625 Windows 8 phone. If you would like something a bit cheaper, then Nokia offers Lumia 620 and Lumia 520, which are predecessors of the Lumia 625. The phone doesn’t have exceptional specs but it’s a good value and its design makes it particularly desirable. And for those who like it fast, Nokia Lumia 625 offers 4G connectivity.
With a 1.2GHz dual core snapdragon processor, 8 GB storage and a 512MB RAM, then you have a simple yet practical Smartphone to use. Of course it doesn’t provide ultra sharp images and a wide range of applications as Nokia forgot to add those features to this amazing phone. Except for these shortcomings, The Lumia 625 is a great value Smartphone to own when working on a $200 budget. Let’s have a look at some features that give the Lumia 625 an edge over other smartphones in the same budget range.
If you have held a Lumia 620 then you can feel the weight and size of the Lumia 625 except that it’s a bit bigger due to the enlarged 4.7 inch display screen. It has a removable battery cover like its predecessor. It’s coated with a plastic shell all round and there isn’t much to look out for on the design. It’s heavier than the Lumia 620 and looks like an overgrown ‘baby Lumia 620’. It’s a bit heavy but that shouldn’t be an issue.
One of the features that make it stand out in the budget Smartphone world, is it’s large screen. Nokia decided to forgo the resolution and instead focus on increasing the display. The screen has less than 400,000 pixels which is way too low a compared to the HTC one M8 which has around 2000000 pixels. Nokia found a way to compensate for the lack of a nice resolution so they provide smooth text on the interface and it might go unnoticed. Nokia still have the anti reflective coating on the screen being superior than the earlier versions.
If you love taking selfies or random photos, this isn’t your phone as the cameras are below standard. The Lumia 625 has a 5 MP sensor and a f/2.4 lens. However, it has a built in LED flash and may come in handy when in low lighting. In ideal conditions, you can take photos of acceptable quality, actually better than with the Lumia 520. Perhaps we would be happy that the Lumia 625’s LED flash assists in focusing when it realizes the lighting conditions are poor.
I think the Lumia 625 is the most affordable Smartphone for people who need to use 4G but if you don’t need 4G or a 4.7 inch screen, then you should consider going for the Nokia Lumia 620 or the Alcatel Touch idol if you are working on an under $200 budget.
