Kobo Aura H2o Review
Do you feel like reading in the bathroom or at the beach? Well, the Kobo Aura H2o makes it easy to read eBooks from wherever you feel like in the world including under water. The Kobo Aura H2o is one of the best and certainly most complete gadgets ever produced by the Toronto based company. Kobo has that feeling that they need to make it possible for its consumers to get the best e-reading experience of all time. Remember the 5 Bs of bookselling? Bedroom, Backyard, Beach, Bus and Bath. Yes, Kobo wants it to happen and the Kobo Aura H2o just does fulfill their wish.
Although the company did not expect the success of the Aura, they released the H2O in a bid to beat Aura’s success. The H2O has the complete features that a reader would be looking for. It’s lighter, slimmer and can be used on the beach or under water for up to 50 minutes. It comes with a 6.8 inch Carta touch screen which has a better resolution by up to 50% compared to other E-reader displays this makes it easy to turn book pages without necessary refreshing the page. Unlike your average e-reader, the Aura H2O and HD don’t use touch screen displays where you can pinch or zoom. Kobo preferred using the NeoNode Infrared technology.
What’s amazing about this new baby? Well, you can enjoy reading eBooks, newspapers, and novels and so on in low lit areas or in total darkness. Unlike your average Smartphone display where you do have to strain your eyes due to light emitted from the layer of film, the H2O comes with 5 LED lights which shine upwards making sure the light is distributed evenly. Apart from the usual functions of the average eBook reader, you can expect some crazy features that come with the Kobo Aura H2o.
The H20 has a Beyond the Book feature, something that resembles X-Ray from Amazon which allows you to get more info about a certain part of the book. It can be more topics similar to the one you are reading, books, authors and so on. Long pressing a word instantly allows you to check it’s meaning in any of the languages provided. Of course the H2O does support various formats such as EpUB, PDF, CBZ, CBR and GIF among others. This ensures that you open various file formats whenever necessary.
All in all, anyone looking for a complete eBook reader shouldn’t be looking elsewhere. You will not find any other eBook reader from Kobo that offers the perfect reading experience in the near future. So if you have a Kobo Touch, Aura or Glo, then you need to upgrade to H2O because the only technology you are saving yourself for might probably be a Wacom support and stylus otherwise this is the best deal so far. Anyone looking for the perfect e-reader should be ready to order one of the Kobo Aura H2o’s before they decide to overprice it.
