Brother MFC-L8850CDW Review
The Brother MFC-L8850CDW is the model at the center of 3 newly launched color laser multifunction copiers (MFPs) customized for workgroups in lesser offices by Brother Industries. It is quick for a color MFP at its cost. It has a fine array of features, counting single-pass duplex checking from its 50-sheet automated document feeder (ADF).
The MFC-L8850CDW can copy, print, fax and scan. It allows you to fax either from your workstation (PC Fax) or as a separate unit devoid of requiring a PC; it can as well function as a separate printer. It supports scanning to or printing from a USB drive. It can as well scan to a computer, email, Microsoft SharePoint, an OCR program, an FTP server and network folders.
Normal paper capability is 300 sheets, divided between a 250-sheet core plate and a 50-sheet multipurpose plate. A non-compulsory 500-sheet plate brings the highest paper capability up to 800 sheets. An automatic-duplexer, for printing on both parts of a sheet of document, comes average. This paper capability is fairly reserved, making the copier most appropriate for a lesser workgroup or micro office or a busy house.
At 20.9” x 19.3” x 20.7” (HWD), this MFP is excessively large to share a small table with. Since it weighs 67 pounds, you will require two people to shift it into position. Its swept-rear front panel consists of a 4.8” color touch display. At the top is a 50-sheet regular paper feeder that sustains single-pass scanning, copying, and faxing of two-part, multipage papers of up to official magnitude.
The copier attaches to a PC through a USB wire, or to a network through Wi-Fi or Ethernet. It sustains Wi-Fi Direct that permits for direct printing between well-matched devices devoid of the need to use a Wi-Fi access point. It is well-matched with Brother iPrint & Scan, Apple AirPrint, Google Cloud Print, Mopria, and Cortado office for printing from portable gadgets.
General production quality for the MFC-L8850CDW was rather below normal during testing, due generally to subpar photo excellence. Text excellence was standard for a color printer, and graphics a touch not a hundred percent. The copier's text is excellent for any industry use apart from ones that need extremely small fonts, for instance requiring desktop-publishing apps.
This laser printer is to some extent more costly than the Brother MFC-L8600CDW, however offers more features: the capability for superior print volumes, enhanced speed, a bigger ADF, and the capability to scan both parts of a document in one pass.
The MFC-L8850CDW is roughly in the middle in cost between, the Dell C3765dnf and the OKI MC362w Color copier. It is not comparable to the Dell C3765dnf in speed, operation costs, graphics quality and paper capacity. It boasts a related set of workflow and MFP attributes to the OKI MC362w and is somewhat faster, even if it couldn't fairly meet the OKI MFP's yield quality or document handling.
The Brother MFC-L8850CDW brings excellent speed for a color printer, and it’s filled with features, counting a 50-sheet ADF that sustains single-pass duplex faxing, scanning, and copying.
