BlackBerry Classic Review
The BlackBerry Classic may be a complete disappointment to some people and at the same time be the best flagship of the year to some. If you are a BlackBerry enthusiast, you will find something from this phone but if you have never come across any other OS except Android and iOS, you will find it difficult to appreciate this phone. Nevertheless, it’s not really hard to get used to the BlackBerry Classic if you are an iOS fan because BlackBerry combined traditional BlackBerry features with vital features associated with the modern Smartphone.
To be honest, there is no way BlackBerry would be able to have it both ways, so it would rather retain it’s already established customers than try to entice new ones. If you are a business person looking for that perfect smartphone and don’t care about Instagram and Candy Crush, then this is the phone for you. Anyone looking for a physical, clicky, full-size keyboard (with a touch screen option), should have a closer look at the BlackBerry Classic as it’s the only last hope.
If you love the BlackBerry Hub, then you don’t have to go any further, this is the right phone for you. The browser is also a good one. Of course you find a myriad of apps for business users as well as people seeking to have a little fun. Although BlackBerry Blend isn’t your record breaking software, it surely looks promising. The BlackBerry Classic can be used with one hand and has a comfortable feel. Using the trackpad and keyboard gives you a refreshing change if you are not used to blackberry. When it comes to security, Blackberry is the best so far and so expect maximum security with your Classic.
Although the Classic may seem the most appropriate for the modern BlackBerry enthusiast, I think there are a couple of things that taint its reputation. First of all, most popular apps aren’t found in the Blackberry Hub and you would be required to side load them which isn’t 100% guaranteed either. Another thing that somehow seems disturbing is the square screen. A square screen may be good for spreadsheets and other business related contents but not the best for media. Its camera is also not beatable.
John Chen, the C.E.O of BlackBerry, has been on record saying that the Classic was built in response to Blackberry enthusiasts’ requests and so I believe they should be very happy with it. This phone is a bit difficult to rate as it’s like the best Rock and Roll song in the history of all Rock and Roll songs but you really have to be a die hard Rock and Roll fan to appreciate it. If there are a few Android and iOS enthusiasts that would love to try a business like device with great security measures, then Blackberry is the only place to run to. Blackberry enthusiasts may find it really useful but it’s hard to convince the average iOS user to dig out over $400 for the Classic.
