Apple MacBook Pro Retina 15" I7 2.2Ghz Review
Apple has been leading in the notebook market for quiet sometime and with its every new release, we expect a better product. The Apple MacBook Pro Retina 15" i7 2.2G hz is an excellent laptop that comes with updated specs and a better display at the same price as its previous model. The reason they have Retina on its name is to market their new HD screen with retina display. It’s amazing but not that of a unique feature anymore given that there are more manufacturers producing HD screens every other day.
The new Apple MacBook Pro Retina 15" i7 2.2 Ghz might be a good performer with an excellent HD and a few upgrades to its components but it doesn’t really bring anything new to the table to force a switch from the older version. There are only a few changes that I think you can live without and what’s more, the price is still the same as the previous version while other apple products are taking price cuts. Nevertheless, this is a great laptop for anyone looking to get their first high performance Apple macbook. If you already have the previous version, there is so little to force you get the new Apple MacBook Pro Retina 15" i7 2.2 Ghz. If you already have an older version, I would recommend that you hold on a bit and wait for a fresher release in order to spend your money wisely.
Perhaps you would like to know what’s new. Well, the Apple camp upgraded the 2.0GHz Intel Core i7 to the 2.2GHz Core i7 which only means one thing: faster performance. They also had to double the RAM from 8GB to 16GB which means even better performance. The entry level model however, lacks an Nvidia graphics card and will solely rely on the integrated iris pro from Intel. Nearly everything else remains constant in the new Apple MacBook Pro Retina 15" i7 2.2 Ghz which makes it a not really new product after all. The premium feel and design is the same as the older version. In all honesty, except for the doubled RAM and a slight speed Bump, you will be purchasing something similar to the 2013 version. The multitouch pad has been the industry leader for quite some time and it’s also used in the Apple MacBook Pro Retina 15" i7 2.2Ghz as well.
Basically, there is nothing exceptional about the new MacBook compared to the previous versions. The only thing that Apple thought they would capitalize on was their HD retina display which isn’t working out so well as other manufacturers are already churning out HD displays. Dell and Lenovo are already ahead in the game producing better than HD screens while other manufacturers are even doing better such as Toshiba with their 15íSatellite P50t which boasts of full 4K resolution.
Nevertheless, the Apple MacBook Pro Retina 15" i7 2.2Ghz is still a great performer even though it doesn’t really stand out. So if you are looking for a good laptop, then the pro retina will do the job, but anyone looking to upgrade from the 2013 model might have to just wait for a fresher release or have a look at the 2015 model.
