Apple IPad Pro 2018 11" 64GB WiFi Review
The 3-Minute Apple iPad Pro 2018 11" Review
Smaller is Better?
By Graeme Messina | December 15, 2018
The Specifics:
Features & Design: 4/5 ● Performance: 4/5 ● Value: 4/5 ● Battery Life 4/5
The Best:
This latest version of the iPad Pro is the 11” model. It has a much smaller bezel than previous iPads, making the smaller screen seem much bigger, which is a plus. This is the professional version of the iPad, so you will find that the internal components offer a fantastic user experience that is fast and well refined to meet your every digital requirement. There is also Apple Pencil compatibility to look forward to as well.
The Bugs:
As with most things that Apple does, there are bound to be some detractors amongst the fans. The key element that most people will immediately notice is missing is the home button. Apple has made it much it easy to live without it though, so that shouldn’t be a concern for prospective owners. There is also no headphone adapter included with this model, which is another annoyance that most users will probably not enjoy.
Is it for you?
If you are a professional that needs to have the power of a PC with you at all times without taking up too much pace, then this is just the device for you. It features a liquid Retina display as well, which reproduces colors beautifully.
Meet the Apple iPad Pro 2018 11"
Although the iPad has dropped the Home Button as a feature, there aren’t too many people that seem to mind too much. Or at all. This is primarily because the Home Button is generally difficult to press when the unit is in landscape mode anyway.
What we like
The camera that this device ships with is really good for a tablet device, even if it is only a 12MP one. Low light pictures and zoomed images all seem to be fine, with only a bit of room for improvement all round. It supports time lapse and has a 240fps at 1080 resolution capabilities as well.
The Apple Pencil is great, but you will need to purchase it separately in most cases, unless it is being bundled with your particular purchase. This is an expensive accessory, but it is really handy if you are doing creative things like phot editing or sketching and design on your iPad. The performance is really good, and is probably one of the best Apple experiences that you could hope for.
What we don’t like
Even though you do get used to not having a Home Button, it would be nice to have it somewhere on the device. It is no deal breaker, mainly because as we’ve already said, you do get used to it not being there after a while. Having the Apple Pencil bundled along with a headphone adapter would have been great as well.
Should you buy it?
This is a professional device which means that it comes with a professional pricing premium attached to it. If you are a casual user that needs to use an iPad for watching movies and connecting to social media sites, then this might be a tough device to justify the price tag. If however you are a professional user that really needs to have power and functionality while you are out on the road or commuting to work, then this will be an easy sell. The Apple Pencil can also be attached to the tablet now, which is a great addition, even if it is a little late.
