Apple IPad Air 64GB Wi-Fi (2020) Review
The 3-Minute iPad Air Review
The Next-Gen iPad Air
By Rachel Hutson | October 2020
In October 2020, Apple released its iPad range. The iPad Air has taken many people by surprise with its low price and fantastic processor.
The Design of the iPad Air is similar to previous iPad Pro models with the lack of a home screen button, but instead gives you a fingerprint sensor in the top button.
Offering scratch-resistant glass and oleophobic coating that comes in five attractive color options: Silver, Rose Gold, Space Gray, Sky Blue, and Green.
It is coupled with a slim bezel 10.9-inch screen; this stunning true tone Liquid Retina, IPS, and LCD screen with a 2360x1640-pixels resolution, and supports Apple's pencil.
Running iPadOS 14 on an Apple A14 Bionic (5nm) chipset 4GB RAM and 64GB/256GB storage, giving a 40% CPU speed upgrade and a 30% graphic upgrade.
The built‐in 28.6watt-hour rechargeable lithium‑polymer battery Apple has not released its size but says it lasts 10 hours with heavy use.
A dual-band (2.4GHz and 5GHz) network gives you even faster internet and Bluetooth 5.0 for fast connectivity to iPods or other Bluetooth devices.

The screen on the iPad Air is stunning with a 120Hz Liquid Retina display with IPS technology to reduce the strain on your eyes. A 2360x1640-pixel resolution at 264 pixels per inch (PPI), True Tone display is fingerprint-resistant due to the oleophobic coating.
The loss of face id was a shock as this is one of the most common Apple features. They did include a fingerprint unlock, which was also out of the norm for Apple.
With this device being an iPad and often used as a mini laptop and when placed with the magic keyboard, having no face unlock can make working on it a little cumbersome when used as a laptop.
Is it for you?
If you are an Apple fan and enjoy the iPads and are in the market for a new model, we highly recommend the iPad Air. Apple has been working on keeping its price down, and the Air matches the iPad pro in many areas at a lower price.
What we like
The accessory compatibility is super handy, offering the use of the Apple Pencil 2, a model preferred over the original due to its magnetic attachment and wireless charging. This makes graphic editing so much easier.
The Air is also now compatible with the Magic Keyboard, allowing you to turn your iPad into a productive workstation.
What we don't like
The iPad Air lacks on the rear camera front as it only has one rear camera, but in all honesty, who buys an iPad for the camera, so it is not a deal-breaker. The resale value on the Air is lower than the iPad pro.
Should you buy it?
The iPad Air is cheaper over the iPad Pro and offers better storage and longer battery life due to the latest 5nm CPU chipset. If you don't mind missing out on the CPU's extra core compared to the Pro, the Air more than makes up for it in price and battery life.
If you are an artist, student, or like working on the go, the Apple pencil and magic keyboard's added features make sharing, editing, and sketching more efficient than before.
