   The Garmin Nuvi 3790T, according to Garmin, is the slimmest GPS in the world. No thicker than a #2 pencil, it is sleek, stylish and easily portable. Despite the thin design, it feels solid and there are no rattles or creaks.
   
   This latest Garmin nüvi product is full of technological features such as voice-activation, dual orientation, 3-D terrain view, traffic subscription alerts and hands free calling that ease the travelling process and thus render it a travel essential for drivers and pedestrians alike.
   
   You can use the Garmin Nuvi 3790T, which is a 4.3 inch portable GPS navigator either horizontally or vertically. Horizontally, the device looks like the dashboard. Vertically, it resemble the iPhone. It has a full glass 4.3” diagonal multi-touch display.
   
   Apart from the general vehicle use, it is meant for the handheld use while either commuting or walking. Another feature that sets it apart is its width, which is only 9 millimetres. This device works, feels, and looks just like a high-tech cellular phone. Voice recognition feature is outstanding.
   
   Aside from its diminutive dimensions, the best feature of the Garmin nuvi 3790T is a glass, capacitive touchscreen that supports multitouch. The process isn't as silky smooth as it is on the iPhone or many Android smartphones, but it works reasonably well. The screen is also the brightest and sharpest on a GPS unit to date, though the lack of ambient light sensor and its propensity to attract fingerprints are annoying.
   
   You can give it commands even while driving. Speak commands also tell you what to do. It can learn your daily route as well as the recurring traffic patterns in your daily commute, so that you can avoid any traffic hold up.
   
   The built-in microphone and speaker enables hands free calling through its Bluetooth wireless. This way you can keep your hands on the wheel while having a talk on it. Just pair it with your Bluetooth phone.
   
   You can also receive alerts about traffic delays and road constructions that lie ahead. It also comes with maps of the United States, Canada, and Mexico. It also features a 3D map application, which makes its use easier in an unknown region.
   
   But the glossy screen it has makes the display shiny and hence difficult to view when used in direct sunlight. Also it is not possible to access the traffic data when the device is being used in the hands. According to some users, the directed voice is not very clear and could have been better. The menu has limited choices.
   
   The Garmin Nuvi 3790T’s slim profile and large, sharp screen make it one of the most portable and best-looking standalone GPS devices. It is a premiere navigation device for walkers and drivers alike—it just doesn't come cheap.
